The end of the Y8 and Y10 football season 2024

The football league season for the Y8 and Y10 football teams has come to an end after both teams played seven games in the Coastal league.

The Y8 team, who are the current district champions continued to perform to a very high level and this was reflected in their 100% win record. Within their seven games, the team scored a total of 36 goals and only conceding 5 goals. What was more impressive, was that S. Jolliffe finished the team’s top goal scorer with 18 goals! The team are now through to their second consecutive district final, which will be played after half term against the winners of the Wolds league. Their opponents will be either Louth Academy or KEVIGS Louth. We wish them all the best for the final.

The Y10 team had an indifferent season compared to previous years. Their record was won 3, draw 2 and lost 2. Despite, some below-par performances, the team were a credit to the school and at times played good football and scored some excellent goals. It just wasn’t their year, however, they still have their county cup match to look forward to after half term. The team did manage to score an impressive 33 goals during the season, with H. Emsell finishing the team’s top goal scorer with 9 goals.
