QEGS Horncastle Hosts Y7&8 Girls Football Tournament May 2024
Last week, QEGS Horncastle hosted the 8 teams for the Year 7 and 8 girls' football tournament. This wonderful event showcased the talent of young athletes but also the spirit of sportsmanship.
With two teams representing QEGS in the tournament, anticipation was high. The girls did not disappoint, showcasing their skills and determination on the field. Despite facing formidable opponents, both QEGS teams demonstrated exceptional performance, with one emerging as the champions and the other securing an impressive fifth place.
One of the tournament's highlights was Lydia's remarkable goal scored directly from a corner. Furthermore, Natasha's outstanding save during the crucial semi-final match kept QEGS in the competition, sending them through to the final where they delivered a dominating performance. No goals were conceded by the team throughout the group stages or the finals which resulted in them being crowned champions.
