Lincolnshire Schools Team Winners - May 24

QEGS took five students (2 teams) to compete in the Lincolnshire Schools Golf Championships which were being held at Sleaford Golf Club. One team included Archie Qualtrough (Y12) and Wilf Trestrail (Y9) and the other team consisted of Neve Begley (Y13, Archie Edney (Y12) and Henry Price (Y10). All five students played off a handicap of under 13, so QEGS had a great chance of winning both the individual and team event.

All the students played fantastically well, especially when the heavy rain started to fall, making the playing conditions extremely difficult. Despite the weather conditions, the team of Neve, Archie E and Henry were victorious because as a team they carded the lowest nett score. As a result the team received a large shield and entry to the National Finals, where they will be representing Lincolnshire. The National Finals will be held on Wednesday 10^th July at Woodhall Spa Golf Club. We wish the team the best of luck!
