KS4 Boys through to the Regional Badminton Finals

On Monday 3rd February, the KS4 boys badminton team competed in the County Finals held at The Priory Academy, LSST.

During the afternoon’s play, the team played five other schools, which were Priory Ruskin Academy, Bourne Grammar, Holbech Academy, Kings School and LSST. Each fixture consisted of 5 games, which were a mixture of singles and doubles.

The team was outstanding as they comprehensively won all their matches. Out of 25 games played, the team won 23 and lost only 2. This was even more impressive, as one of the team was only in Y7, therefore competing against students who were 3-4 years older.

After a 100% record, the team were deservedly crowned County Champions (2nd year in a row) and are now through to the Regional Finals on Friday 7th March. This will be staged at Nottingham Trent University.

The team consisted of Y11 students Shreyas Chingale, Rohan Rai and Harish Kumar, Y10 student Daniel Miao and Y7 student Shivesh Kumar. Well done boys, a fantastic achievement. Good luck in the next round.
