Horncastle Education Trust's Forth Birthday
On Thursday (1st December) the children enjoyed a day of celebration to mark the Horncastle Education Trust's fourth birthday and the addition of a fifth school. They took part in special assemblies, enjoyed party-themed food, and had the chance to win ‘golden ticket’ prizes.
Huttoft Primary and Nursery School is the fifth school to join the trust and to mark the occasion pupils, teachers, and governors at all the schools in the trust planted a ceremonial tree in their school grounds.
CEO of the Horncastle Education Trust Sandra James said: “Reaching our fourth anniversary is a significant milestone, and what better way to mark it than with the addition of a new school?
“As a trust we cherish the family ethos we have created and Huttoft Primary and Nursery School shares our values: to embody ethical leadership, possess relentless ambition for excellence and stand stronger together.
“By joining the trust the children, teachers and their families will benefit from the collective skills, experience and resources of all of our schools.”
Trustee of the Horncastle Education Trust and Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School, Paul Brewster was invited to plant the tree in the school grounds at Huttoft.
He said: “It’s a great school but obviously it’s a small school in a rural village and being part of a bigger family will be a huge benefit as it will have a whole support network behind it.
“It’s also good news for the pupils who will have further opportunities to mix with children at the other schools and to be involved in the wider life of the whole trust.”
