Celebrating Sixth Form Life – by Yemisi Akande (L6)

It was an honour and thrilling opportunity to represent England, over the summer, at the 2023 commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad and Tobago in the 100m and the mixed 4x100m relay. In my events, 100m, I came 6^th in the final with a personal best of 11.6s and the mixed 4x100m, taking first leg and coming home with a silver medal. Being able to spend two weeks competing abroad, with other athletes my age, doing the sport I love, and in a beautiful and welcoming country, was a moment I’d never forget.
