At QEGS we are always looking for support from our alumni to inspire our current cohort of students.
From sharing your career journey to taking part in speed networking, there are lots of ways you can get involved. Here are a few examples of support we have received this year:
Becca Garner, spoke on behalf of Polypipe Civils & Green Urbanisation at the National Apprenticeship Week Breakfast Briefings with Year 11 and Sixth Form students.
Charlie Eddington, Strabag UK visited the Year 12 geographers to explain the processes involved with the Woodsmith Mine in North Yorkshire as part of the A-level Geography fieldwork at Whitby YHA.
Liam Hartley, KOREC UK designed a whole day of activities for Year 9 students to demonstrate the variety of opportunities in the geospatial industry.
Katherine Marshall, Partner at Wilkin Chapman LLP, has supported the Year 12 Business Conference, mock interviews and delivered a presentation to sixth form students considering a career in law.
Angela Murdoch gave a presentation to sixth form psychology students about her career as a forensic psychologist.
Kate Strawson and representatives from PR and marketing agency Shooting Star have supported with the Year 12 Business Conference and business Q&A panels, as well as taking part in the Year 8 speed networking morning.
Gary Hutchinson has shared his business success story working as a content strategist with sixth form students and taken part in the Year 8 speed networking morning.
Catherine Brown has supported mock interview days and facilitated lab-based practical activities to demonstrate the techniques used in pathology.
One of our more recent QEGS leavers and former head girl Joanna Ward spoke to current Year 12 students about studying for an MBio in Biomedical Science at the University of Lincoln.
