Mr S Furness

Headteacher

Following the government’s latest announcement, from Tuesday 5th January 2021, our school will be open for vulnerable children and the children of Critical Workers from any year group.

You can find out if you are classed as a Critical Worker here:  https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision#critical-workers

Remote education will be provided for students in all year groups whilst they are at home in line with our Remote Learning Policy.  If you are experiencing difficulties accessing remote learning due to lack of devices or internet access, please contact us so that we can discuss support which may be available to you.

Plans for the introduction of rapid flow testing in secondary schools will continue and we will communicate details with parents as they become available about how this will operate at QEGS.

The guidance we are following is in the public domain and if you wish to view the details they can be found by following the links at the bottom of this message.

We await confirmation from the Government regarding any national scheme for supporting families who are eligible for free school meals.  Local arrangements via Wonde School Vouchers will continue until any national scheme is implemented.

If your child travels to school using transport organised by the local authority, you will need to request this by contacting the local authority school transport team.  Further information can be found by following this link:  https://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/school-college-transport/covid-19-information-school-transport.

If your child travels to school using our Governors’ Bus Services, please include this information when you email to confirm attendance using This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..  It is likely that routes will be collapsed and new schedules put in place based upon occupancy, therefore, please give 24 hours’ notice to allow arrangements to be made.

In order for us to continue to discharge our safeguarding responsibilities, if your child is due to attend and you need to report an absence, please telephone in the usual way to let us know.

As always, we thank you for your patience and support at this difficult time and send our warm wishes to you and your families.
