Mrs S Holmes is the teacher in charge of Citizenship, Careers and jointly responsible for PSHE with Miss M Spavound.

Mrs J Tomlinson teaches Year 7 citizenship.

Mr T Randman teaches the course from Year 8 to the Lower Sixth.

Dr J Aggett is the teacher in charge of the Sixth Form Personal Development programme.

Mr J Ambrose of the County Careers Service provides individual advice to students one day each week.

Students in Years 7-11 are taught Citizenship and Careers one period each fortnight.  In addition to this students are taught topics concerned with ‘Well-being’ during a form period – the normal timetable is suspended for one lesson every two to three weeks.  The curriculum is enhanced by regular visits from health professionals and people with expertise in business and industry.  These include regular school nurse clinics, presentations from guest speakers, curriculum theme days and drama workshops.

Our courses set out to give our students the knowledge and skills necessary for pupils to make informed choices about:;

  • Their health and lifestyle

  • Their environment

  • Their future

  • Their rights and responsibilities
