Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School Horncastle

Roadworks sign

Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) are making improvements to the roadways surrounding our school, this commenced in August.  We are now in Phase 2.

Phase 2 – A158 improvements, including resurfacing and junction/traffic signal improvements

During October half term the A158 will undergo a series of night time closures whilst the junction with West Street and Langton Hill is resurfaced.  Subsequently the traffic lights will be installed and tested, and the junction should reopen on Wednesday 31st October.  This means that for Monday 29th  and Tuesday 30th October after half term, school traffic including buses will continue to access our site using the diversion in place via the town centre.

Phase 3 – Langton Hill development access and new footway/cycleway

From approximately end of October until early December 2018

Langton Hill to its junction with the B1191 will be closed and diversions will be in place.  It is anticipated that this phase will have the least impact on our school.  This third phase of works will not start until Phase 2 is complete and all traffic management is removed.

During all of these roadworks we ask parents to be considerate and avoid attempting to access the school site by vehicle, selecting a safe, alternative place in Horncastle to drop off and/or pick up students.

Any sixth form students who drive to school and park in West Street or on Lincoln Road should find alternative locations.

Nearer the time, details of the roadworks can be found on www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/roadworks.

If you have any queries, feel free to contact the school and we will try to assist you.
