Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School Horncastle

Portrait of William ShakespeareEnglish is a broad subject and includes the study of literature, language and the media, and the development of such skills as reading, writing, speaking and listening, in addition to the less easily defined elements, such as the imagination, social awareness and interaction.

The English Faculty makes a significant contribution to the cultural and social life of the school: combining with others to produce plays and musicals for public performance, helping with public debating competitions, inviting outside speakers and published writers into school, organising theatre trips and study days and making use of visiting theatre companies to run workshops.
