Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School Horncastle

29 Year 9 and 10 students went to the Lincoln Showground for 'Voice It'. Professional musicians led a variety of interactive workshops including song writing, connect with your audience and backing vocals. Students had the opportunity to talk to some leading people in the industry including Elliott Morris (ex-QEGS student now singer songwriter), Gilson Lavis (professional drummer for 50+ years, working with artists including Jerry Lee Lewis, Jools Holland & Ed Sheeran), the ACM Gospel Choir and one of Jess Glynn's backing singers. In addition, students volunteered to perform in the open mic session, singing in front of an audience of 200 other students on a professional stage. It was an amazing day and all the students enjoyed themselves as well as gaining useful tips and strategies for developing as a musician and performer.
