Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School Horncastle

Welcome to Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School and thank you for visiting our website.  I hope that your visit enables you to capture the essence of our vibrant and dynamic school community. As well as being extremely proud of the school’s long history, I am equally impressed with the range of activities our students get involved in. It is a privilege to lead this remarkable school; students who are friendly, ambitious and creative; staff who are dedicated, caring and talented. Our standards are high; we expect every member of the community to aspire to be the best they can be.

Mrs H. Payne, Head Teacher

The A level and Y11 GCSE music students attended a music workshop led by Mark Padmore and some members of Britten Sinfonia. Mark is an international tenor performing all over the world including at the 2018 BBC Proms. The guitar, Morgan Szymanski has just returned from work in Costa Rico! The recital included music from Schubert, Purcell and more contemporary composers such as Rebecca Clarke. Students were given advice on composition and performance techniques and had the opportunity to ask questions about life as a professional musician. It was an excellent afternoon and one to be remembered for a long time.
